Some ten years ago while teaching Class 12 ,a lesson from English Core, a reference came in text regarding a mother monkey who was jumping above the opened well, apparently running after a male monkey who had a short while ago killed her new born baby. The movements of mother monkey making advances towards male monkey initially sounded the act of flirtation but soon after a thudding sound was heard when the mother monkey deceitfully jumped back halfway –through & the male monkey who was chasing her had a deep fall into the well and died a miserable death. Perhaps the mother monkey had taken her revenge over the killer monkey who had killed her new born baby. Was it poetic-justice designed by the Lord or was it the soul of the mourning mother monkey who wanted to avenge?
